William T. Chapman, IV
President and Attorney
Will is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and attended Franklin Road Academy. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business before receiving his Juris Doctor degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. While in law school, Will clerked for Davidson County, Tennessee First Circuit Court Judge Hamilton V. Gayden, Jr. After graduating from Cumberland School of Law, Will was admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Tennessee and began his law practice with a general, civil litigation firm downtown specializing in insurance defense litigation. After a few years of civil litigation, Will focused his legal practice in the areas of contracts, real property and real property transactions with a firm in Green Hills. It is this experience that allows Will to handle residential and commercial real estate matters with confidence and professionalism.
Vice President and Attorney
Kate is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and attended Goodpasture Christian School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Lipscomb University and her Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine School of Law. After graduating from Pepperdine, Kate was admitted to practice law in all state courts in Tennessee. She clerked for Davidson County Fourth Circuit Court Judge Muriel Robinson prior to joining the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation as a Staff Attorney. Kate then focused her law practice in the areas of contracts, real property and real property transactions with a real estate title company in Middle Tennessee. She has over ten years of experience as a real estate attorney and office manager. It is this experience that allows her to handle all real estate related matters professionally and with confidence.
Kate is married to Brandon and they have two children, Jake and Jack. They reside in Forest Hills and are members of Otter Creek Church. Kate also serves on the board for Homes for Homes, a non-profit organization that funds the housing needs of the poor and oppressed in impoverished countries. James M. Alexander, Jr.
Jay is a native of Franklin, Tennessee and attended Centennial High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville before receiving his Juris Doctor degree from the Cecil C. Humphries School of Law at Memphis University. While in law school, Jay clerked for a title company with several offices in middle Tennessee. Upon graduating from law school, Jay was admitted to practice law in all State Courts in Tennessee. Jay joined Chapman & Rosenthal Title in February of 2008 and focused his practice in the areas of contracts, real property and real property transactions.
Jay and his wife Bethany have two daughters, Caroline and Amelia and they reside in Brentwood. The Alexander’s are members of Brentwood Baptist Church.
Nathan is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and attended David Lipscomb Campus School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Lipscomb University before receiving his Juris Doctor degree from the Nashville School of Law. While in law school, Nathan worked in Accounting and clerked for a Collections Law Firm in Nashville. After graduating from Nashville School of Law, Nathan was admitted to practice law in Tennessee and began his law practice with a general practice law firm. Soon thereafter, Nathan focused his legal practice in the areas of contracts, real property and real property transactions with a firm in Cool Springs. Nathan joined Chapman and Rosenthal Title, Inc. in March 2013. Nathan, his wife Cary, and their children, Henry and Charlotte, reside in Williamson County, TN. Nathan serves as the Secretary of the Williamson County Bar Association, and he is the social chair for the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Williamson County Bar Association. Nathan is also a member of the John Marshall American Inns of Court.
Shira grew up in Kingsport, TN but has lived in Nashville since 2010. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a double major in history and political science. She attended law school at the Nashville School of Law while working full time at Chapman & Rosenthal. She graduated from law school in the top 10% of her class and was a member of the Cooper’s Inn Honor Society. In 2018, she was admitted to practice law in all state courts in Tennessee. Shira has been with Chapman & Rosenthal since 2010 and this experience makes her a valuable asset to clients. She lives in West Meade with her husband, Matt.
Chad I. Pearman was born in Nashville, Tennessee and was raised in Franklin. He attended David Lipscomb High School where he played varsity baseball, served as a captain of the football team and was president of his graduating class. Chad attended Lipscomb University where he received an academic scholarship. He graduated in 1997 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a double minor in History and Management. Chad furthered his academic studies at the University of Tennessee College of Law. During law school, he earned recognition for academic excellence in Client Development and Litigation. Chad’s vocational achievements include a prestigious internship at the Tennessee Supreme Court and an internship at the Metro Nashville Legal Department. During the second year of law school, he was a Summer Associate at Manier and Herod in Nashville.
Upon graduation from law school, Chad was admitted to practice in all state courts and accepted a position with Manier and Herod, where he practiced civil litigation through June of 2004. In July, 2004, he ventured out and began his real estate practice. Chad has been married to his high school sweetheart, Jennifer, since 1997 and they have three children, Camille, Carson, and Corinne. They reside in Brentwood and are active members of Otter Creek Church. Chad is an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoys football, hockey and baseball.
Abby Benson is a native of Franklin, Tennessee and attended Centennial High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville. Before receiving her Juris Doctor from Belmont University College of Law, Abby worked for Chapman & Rosenthal Title in multiple capacities. While in law school, Abby interned at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Nashville Predators, and for the Honorable Ronald Thurman of the Thirteenth Judicial District Chancery Court. Abby joined Chapman & Rosenthal Title full time in August of 2017.
Ryan grew up in Germantown, TN and attended Briarcrest Christian School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Memphis with a major in Political Science and a minor in History. As an undergraduate, he led the men’s club lacrosse team as President and Captain. In addition, he was selected for the GRLC 1st All Conference team. Prior to beginning law school, he held several sales management positions.
Ryan received his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. While in law school, Ryan interned with the Law Office of the Shelby County Public Defender and was a student Attorney in the Neighborhood Preservation Clinic. As a student Attorney, Ryan represented the city of Memphis in 37 public nuisance law suits against the owners of severely neglected, vacant and abandoned properties. Ryan reprised his role as Captain of the men’s lacrosse team and led the team to win the NCLL Deep South conference title. After graduating from law school, Ryan was admitted to practice in all state courts in Tennessee.
Sabrina Schulhauser grew up in a suburb outside of San Francisco, California but considers herself a Tennessean more so, having lived in Tennessee since 2014. She attended the University of Tennessee-Knoxville where she was Vice President of New Member Education for the sorority Alpha Chi Omega. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Before attending Belmont University College of Law, she worked at a law firm in Knoxville, Tennessee that practiced employment, tax and contract litigation. While attending law school, Sabrina worked for Chapman & Rosenthal Title in the post-closing department. Graduating from Belmont Law in 2022, Sabrina was admitted to practice law in all state courts in Tennessee. She joined Chapman and Rosenthal full time in September of 2022. Sabrina lives with her boyfriend, Ryan, and their two dogs in Wedgewood-Houston. She enjoys scuba diving, reading, traveling and any outdoor activity with her pups.
